Are you a runner? If so, you want to be in Crestline on August 9 for the 35th annual “Run Through the Pines.” This event features a 5K Run/Walk, Kids Fun Run, a 10K, water stations, chip timing and computerized race results. It always draws a large number of participants as well as family members and friends who accompany them and enjoy the atmosphere and excitement that goes with this great event. If you’re not a runner come on out anyway and enjoy the day. You can also cheer on the people who are participating and I know they appreciate crowd support.
Each participate will receive an event T-shirt with a custom design and all the overall winners will receive trophies. The Run will take place on a paved roadway around Lake Gregory which, at 4,728 feet above sea level in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains, it always is a great event for runners of any capability. Runners can expect to encounter slight up and down inclines.
The staging area will be at Lake Gregory Ballfield at 24745 San Moritz Drive in Crestline, which is next to the lake. Sponsored by the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District as well as the Lake Gregory Recreation Company, Goodwin’s Market, Infinity Time and Race Central, this is one of those events that has been held throughout the years and just gets better and better.

It promises to be a beautiful day in Crestline and with the new water features on Lake Gregory it’s even more exciting. Come on up to the mountains for a great day of participating or watching the run and then playing at or in, the lake. If somebody tells you to go jump in the lake……………..you’ll be in the right place!
See you there! Don’t forget your running shoes and the kids! Be aware that race participants and non-runners as well may incur a parking fee.
