Okay all you mountain bike racers, I have good news. Rim Nordic Racing is starting their mountain bike races. The second bit of good news is that no license is required this season.
Now you can register as a Pro. Expert, Sports or beginning racer. The f$35 entry fee is for pre-registered riders so get your registration in as quickly as possible.
The start time is later this year so if you’re coming from Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego or even San Bernardino counties you don’t have to get up at the crack of down. Registration will take place on site from 8 a.m. to noon. The Novice race starts at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Beginners (one lap) that starts at 10 a.m. Those who take part in the Sport category be prepared to do two laps that begin at 11 a.m. The “pros” or “expert women” will race at noon and will do three laps of the track. The racers who are 40 years and older will do two laps. The Pro-Expert men will race for three laps that begin at 12:30 p.m. The men 50 years and older will do two laps.
This race promises to be a really exciting event for participants and family and friends who want to watch and this year a free “Novice” race will be held every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. just before the XC series begins. What a great idea!
Rim Nordic owner Kory and Bev Brown are really looking forward to the two-day So Cal Mtn. Stage Race that will be held August 2 and 3. This two-day event has four stages and this event will benefit the Mark J. Reynolds Kids Bike Run. They want all bikers to come and enjoy this fundraising event, no matter whether you’re slow as a snail on your bicycle or you’re a fast racer.
Something else is new this year at Rim Nordic……………………..all high school bicycle team members can participate for only $20 at any of the races. What an opportunity for team members to race and participate.
On August 10 get ready for Enduro #2. Come join your mountain biking friends for Rim Nordic’s new format for mountain bike racing………..they’ll be downhill racing with climbing to the start of the multi-stage event. That sounds really exciting and I’m sure it will be a huge success.
Just to let you know when you register it includes a free sack lunch, fruit and a drink. Also, parking is free and there’s even free camping so come on up to the beautiful cool(er) mountains and enjoy the fresh air.
