Employees of public school districts, charter and private schools as well as professional organizations from San Bernardino County are encouraged to submit applications for the annual California “Teacher of the Year” program for 2015. This honorary program is organized through the California Department of Education. If you want to nominate someone be aware the application deadline is August 8 so it is important to get paperwork together and sent to the county district office as soon as possible.
The program highlights educational innovation, student learning and the reward of teaching for the more than 17,000 teachers (yes, you read that correctly) who work in the County’s 33 school districts. Combined, the districts educate more than 411,000 students.
For more program information, including the application form and instructions, log onto: http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/sr/ct. Completed application materials should include one original, printed on a single-sided paper. An additional 25 copies that are double-sided must also be included.
