Come, rest and re-center yourself at the St. Richard’s Episcopal Church “Taize-style Service of Meditation and Song.” This lovely, tranquil event will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 17 and those who attend will undoubtedly leave feeling rested and “re-centered” for the week ahead.
Beautiful simple meditative songs of the Taize community, mixed with prayer, psalms, a reading and a period of silence are all part of this special ceremony. The service lasts about one hour and it is held quarterly at the church.
During the silence people are invited to walk the labyrinth that is located at the church and they may also use the meditation garden which is quite beautiful and tranquil. Others may choose to sit in the beautiful church in silence and look out through the church’s soaring windows that look upon the magnificent garden.
Everyone is welcome. The church is located on Hwy. 18 in Skyforest so it is close to Lake Arrowhead, close to Kuffel Canyon, and it is a short drive to Running Springs. If you feel the need for some silence in your life or an opportunity to have a quiet, uplifting experience with meditative songs be sure to attend. You will be most welcome and you should leave feeling more peaceful than when you came through the doors.
If you are feeling the need for some time of your own, where you can pray or think and be silent in our complicated world, this service will refresh your spirit and soul.
