Remembering Sgt. 1st Class Samuel C. Hariston

USA_Patriotism_Poster_WWII_2LG My thoughts go to the parents and family members of Sgt. 1st Class Samuel C. Hariston, 35, of Houston, Texas who died Aug. 12 in Gharzi, Afghanistan, of injuries he sustained when his unit was engaged by enemy small arms fire.

Sgt. 1st Class Hariston was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division from Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was serving as a member of Operation Enduring Freedom.

I know Americans everywhere share the family’s loss and I hope his family and friends find some comfort in knowing that we share their loss and that we care about the loss of each member of our military.

My thoughts are sent to his family and friends whose lives will never be the same.
