The Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo will host their 19th Annual “Run for the Grizzlies” on September 6 at Chad’s Place in Big Bear Lake. The fun will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The revenue from this annual fundraiser supports the Big Bear Alpine Zoo’s grizzly bears. (Bet you didn’t know there were some in these mountains!) The zoo will be relocating to a larger property and the “Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo” needs to raise funds to help build a modern habitat for the zoo’s grizzly bear family.
This fun event is open to the public and all motorcycles are welcome. There will be seven “poker stops” that will go around beautiful Big Bear Lake. There is also a stop at the Zoo so all riders can visit the Grizzlies along the way. The fun event will also feature opportunity drawings, prizes, a Chapter Challenge, vendors, a BBQ, drinks and live music.
To participate in this fun annual motorcycle run registration will be held at Chad’s Place from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Don’t forget…………Chad’s Place has a new location and is now open at 40824 W. Big Bear Blvd. in beautiful Big Bear Lake. Online registrations are also being accepted by logging onto: http://www.RunForTheGrizzlies.com.
The charge for this fun and exciting event is $25 for rider #1 and $20 for rider #2. The fee includes a Poker Run Pin and T-Shirt. Come on up and enjoy the beauty of the San Bernardino Mountains and Big Bear Lake. The weather is perfect, the temperature is cool, the lake is gorgeous and this is a great fundraiser.

The “Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo” was formed in 1989 as a non-profit public benefit corporation that supports the Big Bear Alpine Zoo through educating the public regarding the treatment, protection and conservation of wildlife. The members also recruit and coordinate zoo volunteers and they are active in fundraising to meet their goals.
