The second annual Lake Arrowhead Dog Festival is right around the corner (or should I say fire hydrant!). Come to the Lake Arrowhead Village Dog Festival on Sunday, September 7 anytime from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and you and your “pooch” will have fun.
Three Dog Bakery and the Lake Arrowhead Merchant’s Association will present their second annual Dog Festival. The fun will include demonstrations, a police K-9 demonstration, the fun and often hilarious “Owner/Dog Look Alike Contest” for all attend, vendors and the not-to-be-missed (and last year’s hit) the Splash Dogs (TM) dog jumping competition. Additionally, dogs will be available for adoption, a low-cost shot clinic will be held and there will be a variety of vendors so if you’re a dog lover this is your event! Remember, the Splash Dog “Dock” opens at 8:30 a.m. so bring your dog early so it can participate before the area gets too congested.
The goal of this event is to educate the public and promote healthy, happy pet ownership and activities, therefore lowering the need for euthanizing animals due to behavior problems. Another part of the organization’s goals is to raise funds for rescue organizations. This year’s funds will go to the Little Red Dog and the German shepherd Rescue of Orange County.
Admission is free to this fun event, however monetary donations will be gratefully accepted. Also, gently used dog items such as dog collars, leashes, carries and unopened pet food will be accepted at the gate.
The fantastic success of last year’s first-time event drew people from all over southern California and even more people are expected this year.
A big “mountain shout-out” to the following supporters: Snow Valley, KOLA 99.9, Burrtec, Triple Financial Services, Prime Properties, Alpine Escrow, Farmer’s Insurance, Canide Natural Pet Food Company, Lake Arrowhead Village and Three Dog Bakery.
