The annual Hearts and Lives coat drive is well underway with donation boxes at various drop-off points. The initial distribution of the much-needed items will be October 18. The hours are 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Lake Arrowhead Presbyterian Church at 351 South Hwy. 173 in Lake Arrowhead.
Last year, well over 1,500 items were distributed to men, women and children at no cost, thanks to the generosity of local residents willing to share the warmth.
The current drop-off locations for warm clothes including gloves and hats is: Hearts and Lives in Crestline; Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Crest Park; California Bank and Trust in Lake Arrowhead Village; Mountains Community Hospital in Lake Arrowhead; the Lake Arrowhead Country Club; Spa of the Pines at the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa; Lake Arrowhead Presbyterian Church; Union Bank in Blue Jay; Twin Peaks Auto Service; Lake Arrowhead Communities Chamber of Commerce in Lake Arrowhead Village; Rim Forest Lumber in Rimforest; TJ Maxx at 49th and Waterman in San Bernardino; Rim of the World Recreation and Park District in Rimforest; and St. Richard of Chichester Episcopal Church on hwy. 18 in Skyforest.
