Did you know there is a wonderful supportive organization to help moms and other family members get through the tough times when their sons or daughters are protecting our country? If not, you need to find out about Blue Star Moms. Just a few years ago a local mountain chapter was formed and the moms of military service men and women are not only welcome but really encouraged to attend.
The local meetings are held on the first Monday of each month (except September’s meeting which is held the second Monday.) The meetings are held at Arturo’s Restaurant in Blue Jay (near the Rite Aid).
A social hour is held at 5:30 p.m. before the meeting officially starts and all military moms are more than welcome. The local group is always on the lookout for new members so if you, or a mom you know, is interested send an e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
These women do a lot for our military and for the families that are coping with their sons or daughters being a long way from home. Not only do they supply love and support for one another but they know that support from other moms who understand can be crucial to their being able to cope with the realities of being separated from their deployed son or daughter.
We all need support from one other now and then but these brave moms deserve support each and every day!
