On November 8 the Crestline Chamber of Commerce will host their last Trout Fishing Derby of the season at Lake Gregory. The fun will begin at 7 a.m. and registrants will pay a $20 entry fee. Boats will also be available to rent or participants can fish from the two and one-half mile shoreline. The derby will end at 3:30 p.m. with the “fish weigh in” and the awards ceremony.
In addition to the $2,500 grand prize that’s available out there somewhere there are also nine other tagged fish and if you’re lucky and catch one you might be the lucky one to pick up the $100 tag that these fish carry. The fun day will also feature other prizes including a $100 cash award for the largest catch of the day, a $50 cash award for the total catch weight. $25 will also go to the person who catches the largest fish in the 16-and under age category as well as in the “senior” division for fishermen and women 65-years and older.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at Goodwin’s Market, the Seven-11, Lake Drive Ace Hardware and the Crestline Chamber of Commerce office. Tickets can be purchased at the event up until 10 a.m. Have fun!
