Here comes Santa Claus, Hear Comes Santa Claus, right in front of Online ski and Snowboard Rental Shop (above the coffee shop in Smiley Corner). Technically the tree is located between Hwy. 18 and Holiday Lane.
The Running Springs Area Chamber of Commerce has just received an important e-mail from the North Pole with the information that Santa will be flying into Running Springs at 6 p.m. on Friday, December 5 and guess what? Everyone is invited to come and visit with “Old St. Nick.” The tree lighting has been held at the same spot for decades and it’s so much fun because it’s hard to decide who’s having more fun…..the children or Santa himself. He loves making his annual visit to Running Springs and we love having him.
The fun will include caroling (so get that voice in order),hot chocolate and cider, treats for the children and discounts from local merchants.
This annual fun event is sponsored by the Running Springs Area Chamber of Commerce which encompasses the Arrowbear Lake, Green Valley Lake and Running Springs areas. Literally for decades the tree lighting has been a tradition in the Running Springs area, clear back to the 1960s.
Come get in the holiday mood and sing a few Christmas Carols and see your neighbors and friends. Be sure to wear a jacket because Santa has predicted that it’s going to be cold. I heard that he’s making the reindeer wear warm gloves and shoes on their flight down from the North Pole. Also, don’t forget your camera so you can take photos of your children with Santa. He loves having his picture taken this time of year and he really loves greeting all the boys and girls.
See you there!
