The Rim of the World Recreation and Park District will kick off the Youth Basketball season with the first games on Saturday, January 17. Registrations have closed, the teams are practicing and soon enough everyone will be cheering on the players every Saturday at Rim High School. The fun will go on until “March Madness”.
Community organizations, services and businesses will have the opportunity to purchase their very own 2×5 foot banner which will be hung every Saturday for the games. Banners are $100 each and they can display the business name, logo and contact information. The banner will be picked-up at the end of the season so they can be displayed in an office or other place of business the donor desires. It’s such a great way to shop support for the local basketball program that has become unbelievably popular!
The best part of the basketball season is going to the high school and watching the games. More than 500 people pass through the gymnasiums on Saturdays and most parents make a day out of it. The program operates utilizing volunteer coaches, assistant coaches and help from parents. Since this program is a local mountain endeavor the community’s support is vital to its success.
To help sponsor and support the Youth Basketball program, contact Recreation Director Bob Kinzel or Carly Korn, marketing specialist for an application.
