Ted Alejandre who was elected new San Bernardino County Superintendent in the June general will take his oath of office during a ceremony at noon on January 5 at the National Orange Show. Alejandre, who is currently the deputy superintendent for the San Bernardino county Superintendent of Schools, will be sworn into office by Mark Sumpter, the president of the County Board of Education.
Beginning with County Schools in 2008 as the assistant superintendent of Business Services, Alejandre brings more than 25 years of experience in public education to his new role as county superintendent. As the 34th county superintendent, he will be the first-ever Hispanic to serve in the position.
A native of San Bernardino County, Alejandre has worked in the Rialto, San Bernardino and Yucaipa-Calimesa school districts as a teacher, principal and administrator prior to taking his position with County Schools. He will take the oath of office at noon on January 5 in the Renaissance Room of the National Orange Show which is located at 690 South Arrowhead in San Bernardino.
