Rubber Ducky you’re the one, you make bathtime so much fun, rubber ducky I’m awfully fond of you…..Well, you know the rest…. but on April 4 thousands of rubber duckies will race down the water slides into Lake Gregory as part of the 7th year of the Duck Derby in Crestline.
In addition to the fun that starts at 10 a.m. on April 4 vendors, food, games and crafts will all be featured. At the same time the Boys and Girls Club will host egg hunts for children 12 and under.
At 1 p.m. the big race begins. Fans and those who have “adopted” a rubber duck will gather above the south shore beach to watch as 2,500 plastic ducks shoot down the water slides and then land in the lake. The first three rubber duckies to cross the finish line will earn cash prizes for “their ticket holders” who have the corresponding number of the winning duck(s).
This year there will be a cash prize for the “lame duck”…..AKA the last duck to finish!
Duck tickets can be purchased can be purchased at the chamber’s website. They will soon be available at other locations in Crestline including Goodwin’s Market, ACE Hardware, 7-11, the “seniors” thrift store in Top Town and at the Boys and Girls Club. Tickets will also be available at the race so don’t worry if you don’t pick them up before the big race. Winners need not be present so there’s no reason to miss out on your chance to win $1,000.
Admission to this fun event is free thanks to their sponsors: Mick Hill Enterprises, The Lake Gregory Recreation Company, Our Feathered Friends, Goodwin’s Market, Cooki Cook, the Lake Gregory Coffee House, Rim Bowling and Entertainment and Victorville Motors.
