Those of us who are parents or grandparents know the love that flows from, and to, those children we help raise. Most children grow healthy and strong but not all children have that luxury and the families, and certainly the children involved, have many struggles. Those of us who raise our own healthy children should be so thankful because that doesn’t always happen.
That being said, the Running Springs Golden Oaks Seniors, Jensen’s Market and the Running Springs Firefighters Association are joining the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District in sponsoring a benefit spaghetti dinner fundraiser for a local Running Springs boy and his family who need our help.
On Tuesday, March 24 a fundraising spaghetti dinner will be held at Hootman Center to raise funds to help this local family. The dinner will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and the charge for dinner is only $5 per person. Dealing with the issues of having a child with leukemia must be terribly difficult in ways that parents of healthy children or grandchildren cannot really comprehend so please plan to attend this important fundraiser and help this local family.
Erik, who is now seven-years-old lives in Running Springs with his parents and three siblings. In addition to the spaghetti dinner the evening will include silent auction items and raffle prizes. Tickets for the raffle are $1 each and they will be sold at the door.
Our mountain communities are filled with loving community members who turn out and help local families who need help. Please plan to attend. The dinner charge is so reasonable and you’ll be able to sleep well that night knowing you helped this local family who are struggling with this nightmare.
