Every wedding, around the world, is a celebration of love and hope as a couple for a future filled with love and happiness. That being said,I attended a wedding yesterday (Saturday, March 14) for a young woman and her family who I have known for many, many years.
Sometimes you meet people in life that are so special. You may not realize it at the time but somehow your heart knows you will know each other forever. That could be Jennie Pirolo and me!
I had the privilege of meeting the Pirolo family many, many years ago when their very young daughter, Jennie, had started a very special program. She loved stuffed animals and her room was finally overflowing and mama said “no more animals.” A very small elementary school student at Valley of Enchantment (I believe) Jennie was still getting stuffed animals but now she would cuddle them and love them in her own way and then donate them to children who were hospitalized and needed a soft stuffed animal to hold and cuddle at such a difficult time. She was about seven or eight-years-old but what she did, and the program she started which was called “Jennie’s Bears,” gave such love and comfort to so many children who needed the comfort of a soft at a scary time of their lives.
Jennie was married yesterday to the love of her life, Michael Joseph Caldwell. Both Rim High graduates the happy couple married at “The Cathedral in the Pines” also known as Lake Arrowhead Community Church along with relatives and guests and Jennie’s sister, Heidi, who served as her maid of honor. This was a family affair as several of the newlywed’s family members played a particular role during the ceremony. Darin, Josh and Kallie Caldwell both participated in the “reading” and the lighting of the unity candle. Following the wedding guests and the wedding party drove to Crestline where the reception was held at the beautiful San Moritz Lodge on the shore of Lake Gregory.
The beautiful venues (both of the church and in Crestline) were perfect analogies for this beautiful couple who is starting their married life together. I wish them love, joy, patience, hope and understanding. Both the bride and the groom hail from well-known families in the mountain communities so I know that their local friends are thrilled for the new couple and wish them a lifetime of happiness!
Jennie is a grown woman now and I have held her close to my heart all these years so I am so happy to see her so happy.
My love and congratulations to the newlyweds. What a very special day they had yesterday and I am so grateful that I was one of the guests who could attest to what a special occasion this was.
