Now that the Rim of the World Unified School District board of trustees reluctantly agreed to close a school at their last meeting as part of the mandated school closure process they must hold public meetings for residents to find out more about what will happen when this occurs. The school board has determined that Grandview Elementary School will be closed and Mountain High School will, in all probability, move to the Alternative Education program at Rim High. The school district board of trustees will hold two meetings for local residents and concerned families to better understand the issues involved and the reasons for their recent decisions.
The first public meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on March 31 at the Lake Gregory Education Center. The school is located at 24740 San Moritz Way (near Lake Gregory) in Crestline. The second meeting will be held April 30 at 6 p.m. also at the Lake Gregory Education Center.
With continuing falling enrollment in the school district last month the board took action to close Grandview Elementary School and to consolidate Mountain High School (the district’s continuation high school) and move it to Rim High.
This meeting is very important for parents and guardians to attend so they know the latest information on these school changes for the next school year.
