The “If’s,” “And’s” and “But’s” of Any Potential Mountain Consolidation

Every few years the idea of incorporating the local Rim of the World communities into a city is discussed and having moved to the mountains in 1974 I can attest to the fact that probably it has been discussed off and on at least four times during those years. Well, the “thought” has popped up again so if you want to know more about this potential consolidation you should attend an upcoming forum on March 26 in Crestline

Sponsored by the Lake Arrowhead Communities Republican Women’s Club this is a non-partisan event that is open to the public.

The speakers will include former county board of  supervisors candidate Randolph Beasley and former 33rd Assembly District candidate Michelle Ambrozic. If and when the communities consolidate there will be many issues to deal with include: tax revenue, what happens with the school and hospital districts and many other complex issues and undoubtedly some of these topics will be discussed at this event.

A social hour will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the general meeting of the Women’s Club will begin at 10 a.m. The luncheon will be at 11:15 a.m. and the speakers will begin at 12 noon.

The luncheon price is $20. The luncheon and the program will be held at the Thousand Pines Christian Conference Center which is located at 359 Thousand Pines Drive in Crestline.

This is a very important event as any consolidation would have huge impacts for our local communities. Come and find out more about the current thoughts, for or against, any potential consolidation. While it has come up several times before this will give attendees an idea on “where” the issue lies at this time and whether they think it is worth pursuing or not.
