Children’s Fishing Derby April 25 at Arrowbear Lake and it’s FREE!

boy-go-fishing-free-clipartKids love to go fishing and a special fishing derby is set for Saturday, April 25 at Arrowbear Lake.

Sponsored by the Arrowbear Lake Lions Club this event, which is such fun, is being named after longtime (and much beloved) Arrowbear resident, Steve Cannata, who tragically died all too soon last year. Steve was an active member of the Arrowbear Lions Club for many, many years so it is so appropriate that his friends and Lions Club members are naming this fishing derby after him.

The fun will be held at Arrowbear Lake (off Hwy. 18 by Blondie’s restaurant) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and boys and girls ages three to 15-years-old are welcome to participate in this free event.

In addition to fishing fun a free hot dog and drink will be given to each child and there are always a lot of prizes which makes this event really fun for the family..,but especially the children.

Even if you don’t fish (or even like fish) you might want to come out on what will be a glorious day by the lake and enjoy this fun event. It’s hard to decide sometimes who has more fun at this fishing derby….the children or the adults.

Huckleberry Finn would have loved  this fishing derby and so will you and your children!
