It’s that time again….Family Fun Day at the San Bernardino County Museum will be held on Saturday, April 11 and this will be another great event. The fun will include a hands-on preview of the upcoming summer programs which are entitled “Summer Adventures 2015.”
Activities will start at 11 a.m. and they will continue until 4 p.m. During this fun day visitors can design and build structures, enjoy live animal presentations, painting replica fossils and many more activities such as wooden building blocks, yard games and animal encounter fun adventures. Activities are appropriate for all ages and they encourage participation for children and adults to enjoy together. All activities are included with paid museum admission.
“Our Family Fun Days are laid-back opportunities for everyone to have fun together,” said Jolene Redvale, curator of education. “Games, crafts and build fit a large range of skills and interest. Parents and children playing together in a fun environment builds confidence and creativity, We’re here to support these skills and having fun in our community.”
Themes for summer programs include creative play and active fun; design and construction; science and geography; and animals, Summer Day Camp for children ages 7-12 as well as the popular Avoid Summer Brain Drain family drop-in activities will all follow these themes.
Summer programs will be offered beginning June 15 and they will run through August 7. Program flyers, schedules and Day Camp registration forms will be available at the museum and on the website this month.
Family Fun Days and the County Museum’s other exciting events and exhibits reflect the effort by the board of supervisors to achieve the Countywide Vision by the arts, culture and education in the county and creating quality of life for residents and visitors.
The San Bernardino County Museum is located at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. General admission is $10 for adults, $8 for military or seniors, $7 for students and $5 for children from five to 12-years-old.
