Crestline residents need to know that Chipper Days will be held June 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. so get busy clearing your property of brush and small trees and drop them off at the Crestline Chamber of Commerce office. There’s no charge involved so help clear your yard of as many flammable items as you can. The chamber office is located at 24385 Lake Drive. The hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and be aware that dropping off pine needles, grass, etc, is prohibited prior to the above-stated dates.
The following types of slash and ladder fuels are accepted: clean brush and /or branches up to 10 inches in diameter and 10 feet in length. The following types of materials ARE NOT eligible for chipping so do not take them to this event: pine needles, grass, leaves or other yard waste, painted or preserved wood, trash, materials contains rocks, dirt, metal, nails, screws, fasteners, wire or twine. No construction work or site materials will be accepted and no chipping of commercially removed trees will be accepted.
These Chipper Days are provided by the San Bernardino County Fire Department and this event is supported by the Crest Forest Chapter of the Mountain Rim Fire Safe Council. The purpose of this event is to assist all residents and property owners to reduce fire hazards in the form of slash and ladder fuels (branches, etc.) The “biomass” will be chipped for environmentally-friendly disposal.
