Constituents of State Senator Mike Morrell’s 23rd District still have time to nominate a deserving woman for his annual Women of Distinction Awards.
Our mountain communities are filled with women who give their time, their talent, their love for whatever organization or club they serve, their commitment to their communities as well as raising the children. If you know one of these remarkable women you have through June 29 to send in your nomination.
Acknowledging remarkable women for their contributions to California has been an annual legislative tradition since 1987. Celebrations include weekly recognitions of women’s accomplishments on the floors of both state houses. Additionally resolutions commemorating Women’s History Month always involves passing resolutions in the state senate.
Nominees should have a strong dedication to making a difference through acts of service, philanthropic efforts or other demonstrations of their commitment to their community. They must also live or work within the 23rd Senate District which includes Running Springs, Lake Arrowhead, Cedar Glen, Big Bear Lake, Loma Linda, Redlands, Crestline, Cherry Valley, Phelan, Wrightwood, Highland, Homeland, Menifee, Nuevo, San Jacinto and Pinon Hills.
If you know a deserving woman send your nomination to: firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline will be open through June 29 so if you have someone in mind you need to send it quickly.
If possible try to recommend a woman who has not yet been honored.
