The annual Arrowbear Fire Department community picnic will be held on July 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Tucker Field in Arrowbear, directly across from the lake. (Well, it’s a dry lake by now but it’s still technically a lake).
This annual, wonderful event always draws several hundred people who more than thoroughly enjoy the great food served by the firefighters as well as drawings and great fun. This long-standing, fun event has been a staple of the Arrowbear area for decades and each year it seems to just get better and better and better.
Parking is usually tight so if you can get there early. Come and enjoy this fabulous event and while the firefighters have been hosting this great “Andy Griffith-type” for decades it just gets better and better.
There are always a lot of drawings, great food, camaraderie and fun for the kids on the lawn and for the adults who are young at heart. There are always lots of ways to get wet, for both children and adults. This is one of those terrific events where it is entirely possible you’ll see friends you haven’t seen for awhile so come and enjoy.
Andy Griffith would be so proud!
