You don’t have to be from the Netherlands to have a love affair with daffodils. The famous poet William Wordsworth wrote one of his most beloved poems, many, many decades ago, about daffodils. Although it was written centuries ago the charming poem is repeated over and over again throughout the world as the message of the bright yellow flowers never wanes.
You, too can have a beautiful spring daffodil garden and by purchasing the large King Alfred bulbs through Soroptimist International of the Rim of the World (SIROW) you’ll be supporting your female neighbors through this annual fundraiser. The bulbs sell out quickly so put your order in as quickly as possible.
A case of 200 bulbs is $120; a half-case of 100 bulbs is $70; a one-quarter case of 50 bulbs can be purchased for $40 and an eight of a case (25 bulbs) can be purchased for $25. Each year as more and more residents and business owners plant more of these beautiful, uplifting bright yellow flowers they simply explode on the embankments, yards and communities.
Each year the local mountain communities become alive with bright colorful daffodils, signaling that spring is just ahead.
