“Blood Moon” and Solar Eclipse September 27-Let the Kids Stay Up to Watch!

Be sure to get out that telescope or just use your eyesight on September 27 when a total lunar eclipse takes place. Just to add to the excitement this eclipse will spawn an unusual Blood Lunar Eclipse. The last one of these events occurred in 1982 and the next one won’t take place until 2033. If you’ve never seen one drink some coffee or other caffeinated beverage and stay up for this special event. Seeing a blood-red moon really is quite fascinating and teenagers will probably find it really “cool” so let them stay up to see this oh-so-infrequent event.
