Big MS Fundraiser Planned for “Mschievous Moose”

If you attend the upcoming August 25 Multiple Sclerosis fundraiser at “The Grapevine” in Lake Arrowhead Village you can truly say, providing you talk to anyone there, that you heard it at, not on, the “grapevine.” Wonderful entertainment and great wine and appetizers will be the fare but the proceeds will support Joyce Savage and Polly Sauer who will be taking part in a 50 mile walk to raise funds to help fight this terrible disease. The fundraiser will be held in the early evening hours of 5 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 25.

In addition to the great entertainment with wine and appetizers, there will be plenty of opportunities to bid on incredible auction items. Come enjoy the sunset from the deck of this delightful shop on the Peninsula  (where the former Bin 189 was located).

The fun will include a no-host bar,  50/50 drawings and entertainment provided by Tudor House Productions.  Just think, you get all this entertainment and fun for only a $5 cover charge.

The Grapevine is located in Lake Arrowhead Village and it is filled with ambiance so come and enjoy and do some wine tasting while you’re there. A portion of the night’s sales will be donated to help support these active local women  reach their goal. This “Dynamic Duo”   (as I like to call them) are working as a team and their team name is “MSchievous Moose.” If you know Joyce and/or Polly you’ll also know that their creative team name speaks volumes about their wonderful outlook on life and their “endeering”  personalities.

To RSVP to the event send an e-mail to: jjsavages@charter.net or call (909) 337-7573 by Friday, August 23. If you cannot attend please consider  donating to the cause (and their team) at http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR/Challenge/CASChallengeWalkEvents?team_id=329196&pg=team&fr_id=21029

Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system. This system is made up of the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. MS symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs or it might be severe, resulting in paralysis or loss of vision.

The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another. Today, new treatments and advances in research are giving new hope to people who are affected by the disease. As with many conditions or diseases MS does not just affect the patient. As symptoms get worse MS affects the entire family. Anyone who has had a family member or friend with the disease understands that the consequences of MS are devastating. Having had a paralyzed husband my children, their spouses and our friends understand the significance of the word “paralyzed.” The word is easy to say but living with the reality is something entirely different.

Please consider attending this fun fundraiser and/or contributing to help the “Mschievous Moose” team raise as much money as possible. Not only will you be helping them succeed your heart will be a little bit bigger knowing you helped support them and this important organization.
